Studio Policies
Please arrive on time to class the first 10 minutes of class are just as essential as the middle or end of class.
Attendance is extremely important in every class and is vital for student improvement and group choreography. Personal progress, and growth as a class will reflect this. Please use your best judgment before sending your child to class if they have been ill. If students are injured, they should come to class and observe.
Please park using the parking lot when dropping off and picking up your student to avoid traffic and to keep the studio doors clear. The area in front of the studio sidewalk is a fire zone and not permissible for parking.
Please note that RDC does not always follow school closings, as roads are sometimes cleared by the time classes begin. An update will be posted on social media accounts at least 2 hours prior to class time. We will also send an email.
There are no refunds for absences or classes canceled due to weather. Tuition installments are not based on how many classes in a month, but the whole year is divided into bi-monthly payments for the family’s convenience. If a day of the week is missed more than two days due to weather, RDC will hold a class makeup day. Otherwise, dancers are offered to make up in classes in the same age range.
The Studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if a teacher is absent for any reason. In the event of that a substitution cannot be arranged, class may be canceled or rescheduled.
For your child’s safety, please be on time to the studio to receive dancers when they are dismissed from class. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the safe drop-off before and pick up after class for their child.
Please review the Studio calendar for important dates and events.
Classroom etiquette is expected at all times in the studio. Listening to your instructor, applying corrections and following the proper dress code are all standards in dance training. Courtesy and respect should be given to everyone at the studio. A positive attitude is important in any learning environment.
Please make sure all shoes, dance bags and other items are labeled with the dancer’s name. Rhythm Dance Company is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
The RDC lobby is reserved for dancers and staff only. Instructors will greet dancers at the door when class begins and bring them to the lobby when class is over. Parents/guardians are welcome to come into the lobby during the last 5-10 minutes before pick up. Only parents/guardians with dancers aged 2-4 are invited to stay in the lobby during class time. Thank you for helping keep our class traffic flow smooth!
Tuition, Recital, Costumes
Registration fee and one month’s tuition are due upon registration. The second month of tuition will be charged on September 1. The remaining bi-monthly payments are due November 1 (Nov/Dec), January 1 (Jan/Feb), March 1 (Mar/Apr), and May 1 (May/Jun). All payments will be billed to the card on file. Payments will incur a $5 late fee after the 5th of the month. Returned checks will have a $25 fee. Late fees or return check fees will be billed to the card on file.
Costume deposits are $75 for Performance Level classes. Combo classes will have one costume. Deposits for costumes must be paid by October 1st. Tuition and costume payments must be up to date before costumes can be taken home. There are no refunds after costume deposits have been charged. Costumes are not custom made and are purchased with room to grow based on the child’s measurements and the costume company size chart. Alterations, if necessary, are the parent’s responsibility.
Our annual recital is in June. Families will purchase tickets through an online ticket company in May. There will be a time given where a maximum amount of tickets are allowed for purchase per dancer. After the period ends, customers may purchase additional tickets as available. RDC tries to accommodate siblings the best we can, but we cannot guarantee they will be in the same show. Full price tickets might need to be purchased for multiple shows. Each dancer will also be billed a recital fee which covers a recital t-shirt and recital facility fees.
All withdrawals from classes must be in writing. If not notified in writing before an upcoming tuition payment, tuition will not be refunded. There is no reimbursement of costume deposits after they have been charged. Dancers who withdraw may pick up their costumes in the spring. Any refund will have a $5 processing fee. Any withdrawal after January 1, 2025, will have a $40 cancellation fee
